Saturday September 20 2014 OVERCOMING ANGER 3 Nephi 12:22-24 But I say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother shall be in danger of his judgement. And whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; and whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore, if ye shall come unto me, or shall desire to come unto me, and rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee-- Go thy way unto thy brother, and first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come unto me with full purpose of heart, and I will receive you. 3 Nephi 12:22-24 One chief purpose of life is to overcome evil tendencies, to govern our appetites, to contol our passions--anger, hatred, jealousy, immortality. We have to overcome them; we have to subject them, conquer them, because God has said: My spirit will not dwell in unclean tabernacles, nor will it always strive with man. (David O. Mckay, Conference Report, October 1950, 163) Daily Living SEEK TO BE RECONCILED WITH YOUR BROTHER; THEN YOU ARE WORTHY TO COME UNTO CHRIST.
