Saturday afternoon in Perth on a lovely spring day. Mild balmy weather and gentle breeze so typical make this a wonderful place to live. My favourite subject at the moment is my Surface 2 tablet computer. So here are my impressions about 3 weeks into ownership. Battery life is acceptable but no better. I uninstalled my 3rd party battery %age monitor and turned off active tiles as I feel these may cause severe drainage of my battery. It seems theres a lot of anecdotal evidence to indicate battery monitor software may reduce battery life - in my case by 1-2 hours. The charger cord should be much longer. I can use my XOOM while it recharges, but cannot do that on the Surface. Mind you, Apple is no better with the even shorter cable for iPad/iPods and iPhones. Still the single killer factor of owning a Surface is Office 2013 RT with Outlook. I no longer have to charge down to the study to check mail or write a note, etc. And 2years free Cloud storage makes for now-brainer storage and transfer of docs; although Id never trust ANY external cloud service for highly personal data. Ill keep these brief and add some more later. CHEERIO!
