Saturday we celebrated the long-awaited Mother Neff State Park ground breaking ceremony. The 6.5 million renovation will bring a new headquarters, camping sites, cabins and infrastructure to the " prairie", the same land the Civilian Conservation Corps called home. The CCC, Co. 817, built the beautiful stone buildings in the lower part of the park. The newly acquired land will provide future hiking trails and add another one-half mile of Leon River for future planned activities.
