In 1955, the play was made into a hugely successful film musical starring Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra. Eventually, Luck Be a Lady became a signature song in concert for Sinatra, who never released it as a single, but it appeared as an album track in 1965. The song has been recorded by dozens of artists over the years, and Sinatra recorded it again with The Pretenders Chrissie Hynde on his Duets II album in 1994 shortly before he died.
