Satyagrah After a very long time, my eyes were wet watching this masterpiece. Satyagrah is a movie which is MUST WATCH For the generation born pre independence and before fifties for their failure to foresee the rot of corruption quietly getting imbibed into our values so deep that we don’t feel even bad about it. For the generation born between early sixties and mid-eighties for being extraordinary patient not only to tolerate corruption, lethargy and indifference but at times implicitly and explicitly be part of it. The excuse we give to satisfy ourselves is that this is so deep that “I” alone can do nothing; “Somebody” has to do “something” to overall this system. For the generation born post Nineties, for them to understand, “Enough is enough” and it is the time to say, “Karne ha abhi bahut se kam, ….Dheerah na dena ab bhagwan, Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram…” Yes new generation rightly does not want to be patient and tolerant towards corruption and determined to do “Something” and not to wait for “Somebody” to it for them. Prakash Jha has extracted maximum from Ajay Devgan and Arjun Rampal. Kareena and Amrita Rao are Okay but nothing great. Manoj Bajpai is done true justice to his role of “Ghuta Hua Politiatian”. Amitab Bachan does not need any comments, he is ultimate. Though his role in this movie bear strong resemblance with his earier performance in Arakshan. A question Prakash Jha…Don’t we have any alternative to Amitab Bachan in new generation. Remember Anupam Kher did role of 70 year old man in Saransh when he was in his thirties. Finally, I strongly recommend all educated and forward thinking people to watch this movie, because solution of corrupt free India lies in educated people joining politics and replacing present lot. Caution! Be prepared for some heavy emotional scenes. Sorry for long review...!
