Sauci Day 62 Update: I am having such a great time and now that we are over halfway done with the Trainers Challenge, is it time to start thinking about Saucis career that will start at the end of the 100 days! All the horses in the Challenge are available for sale and can be picked up after the October 4th show at Donida. Here are some key points of what I have found very special about Sauci and what makes her a fantastic prospect for an aspiring rider or trainer to purchase: Hot n Sauci Stats: 5yo 16.1h mare Breeding: Hes Tops out of a Green Dancer mare Conformation: She has a lovely shoulder that allows her free movement, a great neck which make collection a breeze, a powerful hind end with good length of cannon bones and hocks which provide pushing power over the fences and one of her best features is her great solid feet which you can leave barefoot sue to the quality of her hoof wall and soundness of the soles and frogs! Trainability: Sauci is very intelligent with serious work ethic! When I picked her up, she had not been in training for 6 months but she was ready and willing to start right in! She has picked up concepts with relative ease, and enjoys trying new things. Soundness: Sauci was vetted prior to me choosing her for the challenge. He vetting was by far, one of the soundest horses offered!! She passed her felxions with flying colors, her feet were fantastic and showed zero signs of lameness. She does have two old splints which is a fairly common, superficial bump on the cannon bone caused by excess calcium buildup during training as a young horse. The vet did not think it would hinder her in any way for any sport discipline. Sauci has been completely sound with no injury during her time with me. The vet did suggest her teeth could be done in the near future but were not bad. Current Training/What she knows: Sauci has been in training for basic dressage. She is learning to be consistent in her collection, straightness, bending on circles, basic lateral movements and more. She has been taken on short trail rides and is becoming more confident in new environments every day! She has been started over fences and has been schooled so far up to around 26-29 with talent and scope to go much, much higher! She has schooled cross rails, verticals, square and ascending overs, and most recently over a two stride combination and small gymnastics. Potential: I believe Sauci could be very successful as an event horse or show jumper. She exceeds expectations with her scope and jumping style and I believe she could be a excellent upper level prospect!! Rider type and level: Sauci would be best suited to a solid intermediate rider. She likes a soft hand and a quiet ride but does take a fair amount of leg. She is a great ride for a professional but can easily adjust for a teenage rider as well. I would love to see her continue with a rider with a program to continue her success! There is not a price set quite yet on Sauci but we are currently accepting offers. She is available to be tried and purchase prior to the October 4th exhibition but she must stay in training with me until then. Please feel free to contact me for more information or any questions!!
