Savannah. This city is waaayyy serious about historic preservation. Look at the size of that COA sign! And thanks to the quirky genius of its founder, it has an abundance of downtown parks space. We also hit the civil rights museum. Savannahs civil rights campaigners were highly organized and creative. They staged a wade-in to integrate the nearby beach causing deputies to wade after them to arrest them. Im sure it was nerve wracking for protesters at the time, but what a perfect way to highlight the ridiculousness of the laws they sought to change.
