Save The Elliott State Forest! -- 93,000 acres of Old Growth - TopicsExpress

Save The Elliott State Forest! -- 93,000 acres of Old Growth Forest in the central coast range is Home to the Spotted Owl and the Marbled Murrelet - two Native Endangered Species. For many years, communities have been attending meetings and protests urging the State Land Board to refrain from increasing logging and clearcut, by selling off more parcels to private timber corporations. They are just now taking public comments on an Alternatives Project. Please take a moment and send an email to [email protected] What is an alternative way to fund our schools? Most of the forest is designated within the Common Schools Fund, meaning our public forests are sold off to the timber industry, to generate tax revenue for schools. This is a golden opportunity to mention any of your brilliant ideas!!!! I mentioned Hemp, the tax revenue from Measure 91 - Legalization, and also asked for funding to Universities to research hemp. Thank You! Wishing you all well!!
