Savior,Shepherd,King The Suffering Savior: In the Psalm 22 we have a perfect description of our Lord being crucified. Verse 1:My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Verses 6,7,8: But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him. Verses 14,15:I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. Verses 17-18:I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. The Living Shepherd: Then in Psalm 23 we see the Living Shepherd caring for, feeding, restoring, protecting, comforting, and leading His Sheep. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. The Reigning King: Then in the Psalm 24 we see the Exalted and Reigning King. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.(Psalm 24:7-10) In Psalm 22 we see the Good Shepherd giving His life for His Sheep. I am the good shepherd: the Good Shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. (John 10:11) In Psalm 23 we see the Great Shepherd brought forth from the dead perfecting all that concerns His Flock Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that Great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Hebrews 13:20-21) In Psalm 24 we see the Chief Shepherd returning. And when the Chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. (1Peter 5:4) In these 3 Psalms we see Jesus as The Good Shepherd,The Great Shepherd,The Chief Shepherd. Prophet,Priest and King. A Suffering Savior,An Interceding Priest,A Reigning King. A Lamb,A Shepherd,A King. We see His Crucifixion,Resurrection and Coming Again. We see Him taking our Condemnation, providing our Justification and Sanctification and our future Glorification with Him. And I might add that Glorification with Him could come any moment when He comes in the air for His Church. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.(1Thessalonians 4:16-18) And Just Perhaps That Will Be Today God Bless
