Saw a comment on a post this morning that just has really bothered me and feel like I need to say something.. Iam a child a of a Firefighter, My father was a fireman for 38 years, There were many nights we would hear the fire horn go off and we all new what to do, My job was to turn the hall lights on.. I watch my father and many other men on my street go fight fires. I sat with my mother many nights praying he would come home safe..I married a firefighter and watched him go off to many fire scenes and pray he would come home safe, Now I watch my son go to fires and I pray he comes home safe.. NONE of these men were paid.. They VOLUNTEERED. They do this because they want to help there community and save lives..But the ignorance of some people because they cant get to there house. drives me bonkers..SO what if you have to wait.,, Be happy you will have somewhere to lay your head tonight or a job to go to.. Be thankful that your sweet memories from your children are safe and be thankful that God made these men and woman to do a job to inconvenience you for awhile so they can save another persons life.. Firefighters see people at there worse and they dont get thanks enough.. While they are saving you, they are missing out on Birthdays. Anniversaries, Dates with there spouse and time with there kids..So how about saying thank you instead of being mad because you are inconvenienced for a couple of hours..
