Saw a fantastic guitarist the other day at the corner of 6th Ave. and W. 3rd street. He was young, and played an old, beat up, scarred up Strat copy. He was playing some electric jazzy stuff, but when I stopped to listen he started playing blues. And man, could he play! He sounded like some cross between Buddy Guy and Stevie Ray Vaughn. I didnt take his photo. I didnt even get his name. He didnt have any cards or CDs. I just stood there and soaked it in. When he was done I said, Good stuff. Yeah, not enough of that being played today, huh? You know about that good stuff, dont you? Yes, sir, Ive heard quite a bit of good stuff in my day. And you sir, have a sweet touch! Thanks, man I dropped 3 bucks in his case and walked away a much richer man. Just another reason I love NYC so much. There is art everywhere here, you dont have to look far to find it. Just slow down, look around, take off your headphones and listen.
