Saw this show last night. Didnt read reviews, didnt read summary, so went with blank canvas. And wow! The colours that were drawn on it were amazing. Script, music, singing, acting... all first class, truthful... tear-jerking, belly-laughing truthful. And the actors were a treat to the eyes. First there was the ever so cute (a term I reserve for gorgeous guys who are too young for me) Rio Kai plucking away at the bass and then the piano and then the guitar; and then in walks Ako Mitchell (Klook) with empty eyes and forlorn hard spirit that change dramatically and twinkle with love and a soft demeanour when he encounters Sheila Atim (Vinette) who has legs that go right up to her ears - she is captivating. Both great singers - Mitchells gritty soulful baritone matched with Atims chocolate smooth silky tones. It is not a musical, but a play with songs. Different and well balanced...and not cheesy at all. Tickets £19.50. Finsbury Park Station location. What else do you need for a good evening out? Oh yes there is are a couple bars with cakes and really nice vibe....
