Say hello to our new senior boy, Abel. Poor Abel was left at the shelter by his family because they were moving. We can only imagine what Abel was thinking when his family left. Being a large, black, senior dog, Abel didn’t stand much of a chance at the shelter. Luckily, our wonderful volunteer went to meet him and couldn’t say enough good things about him. Here is what his rescuer had to say - “Abel is a 9-year-old handsome Lab mix and is probably the most mellow dog Ive ever met, especially for being away from his familiar surroundings. Well today he began the best days of his life. He got a much needed bath before being transported and based on how dirty he was and how much fur washed out, it was probably the first bath he has ever had. He was so good for it, he even gave me his front paws one at a time. I think he really enjoyed it. After his blow dry he looked like a handsome youngster. He is neutered and has all his shots. He was great on leash and jumped into my car! Well, I was backed up to the curb so it wasnt like he jumped from the street. He could lose about 10lbs.” Welcome to LR sweet boy!
