Say that again? 9 years and a lot of stolen quarters. Hey buddy -- can you spare a quarter? How about $26,000 worth of them? Oregon prison officials say more 100,000 quarters have been stolen from the medium-security facility in Salem. The prison has coin operated lockers where visitors stow their personal stuff before entering. Officials say change has been taken from the locker coin boxes for at least 9 years. Prison officials say there was no formal procedure for handling the change and blame lax security for the key to the coin boxes.
