Saying goodbye to a faithful companion is so hard. Yesterday we had to say goodbye to our beautiful 15yr old Golden Retriever. yes, she had a good long life and we all knew this time would come, yet no matter how ready you make yourself for this time, its NEVER easy. She was the perfect dog to us. She was trained by us to fetch our son when he wandered off, he would laugh and fall to his knees when Rosie grabbed his sleeve or jacket edge and hold him tight all the while wagging her tail making it a game and yet being so gentle so we could catch up with him. Maybe she knew that he was different and that she could tell he was needing special care, as she did her job of guarding him so well. Our son has autism. She was a fantastic mother with raising 6 rambunctious babies of her own and not only did she love them as any mother would, she also loved to be near the foals that were born here on the farm. There would be many times I would find her lying on the floor outside the stall where the new foal was housed and she would always want to peek inside when we opened the door to see the new baby. She is in the picture up above on my FB page saying hi to Starbuck. Goodbye Rosie, we will miss you.
