Saying goodbye to leg hair, and hello to surgery #4. New (to me) meniscus, moving the patellar tendon, bone graft, and putting new cartilage down on the kneecap, tibia, and femur (ACI Procedure). It is a million-mile retreading! They have made tons of advances in knee surgery. I was told at 20 that I would need a full replacement by age 35. I made it a couple of years past that, and this surgery is supposed to buy me another 15-20 years! It is a nervous and exciting time. I am about to endure a 2 year recovery process before I can be 100% again; however, I believe that it will be worth the pain! ...now I need to figure out how to not gain a ton of weight, and how to not go insane.
