Saying goodbye to my dear Uncle Art today. I have so many amazing memories of this fine man. He was the first to balance me above his head on his hands circus-style...taught me that the best hot dogs come from the local deli...cultured me in all things Italian while making the best Italian cuisine...cooked and cut the Thanksgiving turkey even though he was allergic...convinced me that Santa had visited Grandmas house by showing me the reindeer hoof prints in the snow...persuaded hotel managers to open the indoor pool when we arrived too late for me to swim...made sure we ate at a restaurant where I could always order shrimp...made me feel so loved by never holding back having fun with me...and always giving me huge hugs, lifting me up to his level -- the tall tower of awesome uncle that he was. I love you Uncle Art...and will miss you!
