Sayyidunna Jabir ibn Abdullah (radiAllahu anhu)relates: I met rasulullah (salAllahu alaihi wasallam) and he said to me, “O Jabir, why I see you broken?” I said, “YA rasulullah (salAllahu alaihi wasallam), my father is martyred, leaving behind a family and debts.” He said, “Shall I not let you have the glad tidings on how Allah met your father?” I said, “Of course, YA rasulullah (salAllahu alaihi wasallam)!” He said, “Allah did not speak to anyone except from behind a screen but he revived your father and spoke to him directIy, saying, ‘O My slave! wish from Me and I will grant you’. He said, ‘O Lord, resurrect me that I may be slain for Your sake a second time’. The Lord, Blessed and Exalted said, ‘It has been decreed by Me already that they (who die) will not return (to earth)’. This verse was revealed: "And never take those killed in the way of Allah as dead." (3:169) Jame Tirmizi, Volume 2, Hadith 947
