Scammer / Fraud Alert about JURY DUTY!! I received a call this morning from the scammers claiming to be with the Sherriffs Department and wanted to talk to me about missing Jury Duty back on October 15, 2014. I let the guy leave a message on my answering machine, and then I called him back. The guy said his name was LT White Harris with the Sherriffs Department and this is the number he gave 13612196615 (no such number with the NCSO). He started out by telling me I missed Jury Duty, so I asked him which county was that in because I had residence in 3 different counties, and why was it he was calling me on a Sunday? Having already heard about this scam, I then asked him which Jury Summons document number he had and for which court? He continued on and the more questions I asked the madder he got and a more agitated tone was used. He then said if I didnt immediately wire money to this certain account he was going to come arrest me. Being the smart ass that I am, I said Bring it on Fat Ass (and some other choice words), Ill leave the front door open since you already have my address. The phone line suddenly went dead, so I went ahead and made a report to the real Nueces County Sherriffs Dispatcher through METRO COM. The lady I talked to said that if I didnt send any money, there was nothing they could do about it other than take a phone report. So I made a phone report. Im sure there are some idiots that sent money, but common people, they dont call you on Sunday from a number that doesnt show on a caller ID!!
