Scary! ... These are some of My Favorite Areas to Shop In - SomeOne is Definitely in the Area WATCHING us Ladies VERY HARD! O.o.. Tis the season for holiday shopping but a warning for shoppers and businesses. It comes after a rash of crime in three cities. Afraid to show her face, this woman said she is scared to be left alone. Sheer terror and panic, said a young Farmington Hills mother. The fact that he was essentially in my house, Im still terrified. She said that after running errands near 14 mile and Orchard Lake she was robbed after coming home with her 3-month-old Monday. She said the suspect was a tall black man appearing in his 20s, who walked into her garage. He said give me the ring, and I froze, she said. Looking at his hand in his pocket and appearing to have a gun, she says she gave him her wedding rings. A very tall person, very broad shoulders muscular build, she said. He had a bandana across his face. Police say it may be the same man responsible for at least three robberies in Farmington Hills, Orchard Lake and West Bloomfield. The owner of Salon W in West Bloomfield says she was held up two weeks earlier. The man approached her in a strip mall nearby. He was really very calm, she said. (He said) I know you own a salon so just hand me your purse. Handing it over, she says now shes scared the man who threatened her will return. I was trying to see which way he was going or if he was getting in a car, the salon owner said. He told me get your (blank) in the car before I shoot your (blank). The salon owner described the same calm, tall black man wearing a bandanna over his face and dark clothing. She said most disturbing was that he knew she was the owner. When he told me that I stared straight into his eyes and Im like, he followed me, she said. But a third robbery at Closet NV, 6889 Orchard Lake, is putting even more fear into small business owners and neighbors. Employees say -at 5:30 p.m. a man walked into the store, holding a box with wires hanging out of it. He told employees he had a bomb and asked for money out of the cash register, purses and wedding rings. Hearing ticking coming from the box, the cashier handed over the cash. The man, calmly walked out with the same demeanor these women describe. Police are working together - reviewing surveillance video - to find the man terrorizing this community. As both of these women say, theyre lucky to be alive. Its just stuff, said the woman robbed in her Farmington Hills garage. Im very thankful that nothing worse happened because it could have been much much worse.
