Scenes from St. Marks: The aroma of pork roast greeted me when I opened the door to St. Marks and the awesome team from Lea Joyner were ready for sowing seeds of loving kindness as our early arrivers from the homeless community gathered for morning fellowship. What joy! Charles Gaby was well prepared for his presentation on wellbeing that included his playing and singing several of his original songs two of which are also posted. My friendship with Charles began in the Church Careers Program at Centenary College more than 30 years ago. It was indeed a blessing for me and for all to hear him share such an important message. A calendar malfunction/double booking brought a second team of wonderful Partners in Ministry from Blackwater UMC to St. Marks today. They worshiped with us and it was an added blessing to have Rev. Jonathan King assist with Holy Communion. After the service they delivered a bounty of prepared food to Ozanam Inn where the homeless they serve will benefit from their servant hearts and an awkward error by St. Marks. Karl Matherne called us to worship by having us stand and sing We Shall Overcome, and he later intoned the Psalter so movingly. Juli Pattison shared a beautiful witness of Gods grace before inviting our children to gather for Childrens Church. Todays worship was a lovely tapestry woven to the praise and glory of God! My cup overflows!
