School Board met tonight to begin the budget process much earlier - TopicsExpress

School Board met tonight to begin the budget process much earlier than previous years. Superintendent Dr. Williams began the work session by proposing the driving question, What budget should we propose in order to sustain and build on the excellence of Loudoun County Public Schools? He presented a preliminary outlook of the FY 2016 fiscals needs, possible initiatives, and revenue projections. This was all VERY preliminary and not a proposed budget. Rather, this was in response to the Boards desire to have LCPS departments present their budget needs for discussion and debate much earlier than after the official proposed budget in January. I look forward to partnering with LCPS staff on developing the next budget over the next several months. There will be many opportunities for you to provide input as we move through the process.
