School Mum Meg has asked: Hi there, Im a single mum with 2 daughters aged 7 & 13. My f/t job requires me to be away from home fora week at a time every 4-5 weeks. While Im away I have some amazing friends who live locally who look after the girls, I give them some money for groceries etc. Ive been feeling lately that perhaps Im stretching the friendship so I asked my ex if he would look after his daughter during my works trips. Initially he said yes and that hed discuss it with his wife. Yesterday he said that after discussing it with his wife the answer was now no. I simply cant afford to get a nanny and I cant think of any other option other than looking for a job which doesnt require travel which will mean a big pay drop. Im wondering if youre readers might have any suggestions for me that I havent thought of with finding someone trustworthy to care for the girls so I can stay in my current job. Xx Thanks!
