School chum, Vinay Nagaraju, nominating me to name #10books, I - TopicsExpress

School chum, Vinay Nagaraju, nominating me to name #10books, I liked, was a rather painful & gruelling task. It brought mixed emotions; & the idea of picking & choosing one over the other seemed a daunting task to take on. After a few iterations to the list, I realised that there was no way I could get to 10 books I liked, without feeling guilty about having left others out. So I cheated... :-) Instead, I prepared the list of 10 books (or groups of books) that have left an indelible influence in my life. These may not essentially be the books I like the most, but I can sleep without guilt after listing them for their influence in shaping me. ;-) 1. Amar Chitra Katha, Tintin & Asterix comics 2. High School English Grammar & Composition - Wren & Martin 3. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - Mark Twain 4. Atlas Shrugged - Ayn Rand 5. My Experiments with Truth - Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi 6. Jeeves Omnibus - PG Wodehouse 7. Yes Minister - Anthony Jay & Jonathan Lynn 8. Don Quixote - Miguel de Cervantes 9. The Goal - Eliyahu Goldratt 10. The Winning - Jack Welch Thanks Vinay for having me take on this task. Even the process of introspection and elimination brought some wonderful vivid memories. Id like to invite Pria, Mani, Jayshree, Prasanna, Vaijayanthi, Ayush, Gayathri, Naveen, Kaustav, Sriram, Tone, Chinmai, Mohan to take this up; no time limit. Others, feel free to take this up & tag me, if you are so inclined.
