Science Expo More than 600 students from high schools and higher primary schools of the district are taking part in the two-day Science expo, which is being held simultaneously at Geetha Shishu Shikshana Samsthe (GSSS) in Siddharthanagar, Good Shepherd School in N.R. Mohalla and Nirmala Convent in Vontikoppal. The expo features a wide range of scientific models, prototypes, charts, pictures and the like created by students. The INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) District-level Science Exhibition-2014 is organised jointly by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Department of State Educational Research & Training (DSERT), Bangalore, Mysore ZP, District Administration, DIET and the Department of Public Instruction. While children from schools coming under Mysore South, Mysore Rural and H.D. Kote BEO jurisdictions are taking part in the exhibition at Good Shepherd School, children of schools in K.R. Nagar, Periyapatna and Hunsur BEO jurisdictions are taking part in Nirmala Convent while students from Nanjangud, Mysore North and T. Narasipur at GSSS, Siddharthanagar.
