Science matters. This came alive at the Hay festival through an interactive session with Lucy Hawking, daughter of Stephen Hawking, Professor Marcus Du Sautoy and Md. Zafar Iqbal. The program was moderated by PPRC Chairman, Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman. PPRC, through its sister organization, Chittagong Research Initiative (CRI), recently published a research book on the state of science education in schools and colleges. This was PPRCs initiative to promote science among the youth. Should science solve problems or stimulate imagination, or both? Who should have the lead role for promoting science - government, scientists, or social activists? Do science and religion explore the same questions? How do you keep the appetite for science alive? There is a resurgence in interest in science among the youth around the world and Bangladesh cannot afford to fall behind. PPRC welcomes all those interested in seeking these answers.
