Scientific themes The 9th edition of Geotunis congress Geotunis congress is going to treat the following themes and subjects: First theme Gis and geospace applications in water management, desertification and agriculture This theme is held in cooperation with the desert studies center, is going to focus in the following points: 1-Water management 2-Desert and desertification 3- Agriculture in arid and semi-arid lands. 4-Water harvesting 5-water treatment Second theme Gis and geospace applications in survey. This theme is held in cooperation with Euro Arab union of geomatics Middle East office and interested in the following subjects: 1- Importance of using new technology in surveying work 2- Laser scanner applications in surveying work 3- UAV applications in surveying work 4-How WebGIS and MobileGIS helped surveying work 5-GIS applications in surveying. The third theme: Gis Security and Geospatial intelligence. This theme is held in cooperation with the national syndicate security forces of interior and treats the following subjects: 1-Gis security 2-the role of geospatial intelligence in treating crimes and terrorism phenomena 3-3D laser scanning to map the crime scene 4-Traffic safety and means of transport control 5- Gis and geospace use in security defense field. 6-Prisoners and prison management The fourth theme Gis applications in environment and security defense field. 1-Environment and climatic changes - Climatic change and desertification - Desertification and the means its limitation - Ecological balance in dry areas - Environmental system and ecological balance - Waste management and the means to reduce pollution - Management of sewage and treatment of wastewater - Water and air pollution 2- Natural resources - Forests, parks, - Water resources - Mining and mineral resources - Shores, and marine resources - Sources of Energy 3- Management of natural disasters - Floods, fires, earthquakes, landslides - Management of human disaster The fifth theme 1- Cities planning 2- Rural and regional settlement 3- Networks planning (networks of electricity/Gas/water/seweage/communication…) 4- Smart cities The sixth theme: 1- Solar energy 2- Alternative and renewable energy 3- Oil and Gas Workshop which is held in parallel with the congress: - Aerial and space photography and radar survey - Laser scanner - Gis and geospace software Applications - Water management - Spatial Data Infrastructure: SDI - alternative energy /renewable energy and solar energy - cities and smart cities planning - Gis applications in archeological fields - Gis applications in tourism - Desertification and agriculture in arid areas - Remote sensing applications in in water, natural resources and hazards - Development of gis and geospace skills Experts, institutions, and studies institution are welcome to organize workshops within the framework of the congress themes.
