Scientist said there is global warming. Then they changed their mind and called it climate change. Isnt it scientist who make weather forecast? For days ahead of time, to prepare everyone in the Houston area of the approaching cold front that was to send temperatures down into the mid 20s, bring rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow to the area. Based on the weather reports that it was going to happen, schools announced closing (some closed for two days), city offices and garbage collection shuts down. Other businesses close, too. All in anticipation of what was to come. The Pacific moisture was in place. The Arctic cold front was in place. And then it happened. The temperature didnt get as cold as predicted so what sleet fell, it melted. By the time the temperature dropped to freezing, the ground was still too warm. As the paper called it this morning ...the weather fizzled. THE CLIMATE CHANGED AND THE FORECASTERS COULDNT PREDICT THAT WOULD HAPPEN. MAKES ME WONDER IF ANYONE PREDICTED THE WEATHER IN 1917 TO WARN THE FARMERS NOT TO DO ANY HOG KILLINGS, AS THE TEMPERATURE SOARED TO A WARM 85º. IN DEFENSE OF WEATHER FORECASTERS, IT IS EASIER TO PREDICT WEATHER IN OTHER PLACES THAN IT IS IN SOUTH, SOUTHEAST TEXAS.
