Scooter Update Week 24 (1-27-2014) Hey everyone, This week has been a good one. Elder Miller is a cool kid. He is 19 and is from Provo, UT. He looks a little bit like the guy that plays spider man in the amazing Spider-Man movie. We have been getting along really well so far, and I think it is going to be that way for this whole transfer. Because of it being transfer week, it has been a little slow. We didnt really have a whole lot of success. Heather and Steve are doing awesome. We went by and saw them on Saturday, and they were planning on coming to church. Heather woke up sick again, so they were not able to make it. I hope that next week they will be feeling healthy and able to come to church. On Thursday, we had our district meeting and then right after that we went and did some service for a few old ladies. We planted a whole bunch of trees for them. One of the ladies was an active member from the 1st ward, and the other lady was her roommate. She is a non-member who is actively investigating the church. They were both super sweet ladies. We were planting the trees in a mixture of soil and chicken poop, so after we did that service I smelled like chicken poop for the rest of the day. Even after I showered! Other than that we have been trying to contact people, and we didnt really have much luck this week, but it is cool to me that even though we didnt have much success, it was still a very good week. There is this Elder in our zone, Elder Harris, and he is training. The funny thing is that the kid he is training is from American Samoa and he doesnt even speak a little bit of English. So Elder Harris has been freaking out a little bit. He doesnt know how to go about teaching him English when they cannot even communicate. The cool thing is that somehow it is going to work out. I just thought that was kind of funny and worth sharing. Sorry that this was so short, but next week it will be a lot longer!
