Scott Sacks Hapunda Acting President Guy Scott has with immediate effect fired Patriotic Front Director of Media and Public Relations Brian Hapunda. In a statement this evening, Dr. Scott says Brian Hapunda has been fired for gross misbehaviour. Hapunda who took over from Chanda Mfula who resigned soon after Wynter Kabimba was fired is also facing criminal charges in the Livingstone Magistrate Court for obtaining money by false pretences. Late President Michael Sata fired Hapunda as Southern Province provincial political secretary for using his name to solicit money from the business community. However, when Edgar Lungu took over as PF Secretary General, Brian Hapunda was appointed Media Director until this evening. The firing of Hapunda follows the issuing of a press release announcing a petition by the party Central Committee endorsing Lungu as a presidential candidate, whereas it has always been the position of Guy Scott that the party must hold a general conference. Guy Scott also previously attempted to fire Lungu as the PF Secretary General shortly after seizing power, however he was forced to reverse the move following massive street protests.
