Scouts, Parents and Friends: Just a short note to thank you all for making this, my first year as a Scoutmaster, so incredibly special. This year exceeded my expectations in every way imaginable. Thank you Assistant Scoutmasters, Committee members and parents for your help. Special thanks to Ms. Kate Morris, our Charter Organization Representative and all those at Hillside UMC that support our program. As a troop we had our share of adventures. So many scouts enjoyed Philmont, and others attended campouts, meetings, worked on fund raising and service projects. All of you were there, either in spirit or in body when Holt and the scouts brought home the Golden Eagle from the District Camporee. Special honors to those eight young men who completed their Eagle Scout rank in 2014 including: Garrett Metropol Jon Maxwell Carter Rechsteiner Ryan Hunter Austin Holly Sam Jones Nick Salvino Wesley Summers Your achievement brings joy and pride to your parents, and to the Troop. If I may, can I ask one more favor from you and all the rest of the Troop? Please send thoughts and prayers out to Mr. Simon Nagel, my first Scoutmaster from Troop 313 in Pennsylvania. He is dealing with the effects of myasthenia gravis and is not able to volunteer in Scouting the way he has for more than 50 years. As the year ends, we say goodbye to many in our troop who will not be returning. You are either aging out or moving on to other things. This may be your last Troop email message. Rest assured that the Boy Scouts will be here if you need us, and that our community still needs your scout spirit and goodwill. First year scouts, I hope we met your expectations.
