Scripture: 1 John 3:1-3 (KJV) Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. WHAT MANNER OF LOVE! What manner of love! That would hang on a tree, Bearing our guilt and shame From sin to set us free. What manner of love! That would give His life, For the sins of the world As our Lamb of Sacrifice. What manner of love! That would offer His Son, To die on the cross For the sins of everyone. What manner of love! That from His Son would turn away, So that we could be forgiven And live with Him in heaven someday. --Shirlene Wright April 14, 2006 How great is the love that the Lord God Almighty—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—has bestowed upon us! Just think. He loved us so much that He, in the person of the Son, became flesh and dwelt among man to become our sacrifice and died in agony for the sin-debt that we owe. Just think. He has adopted us through our belief in Jesus, the Son, as Saviour and Lord and has made us joint-heirs with Jesus to all that is His. Just think. One day He will appear and we will be like Him and He will take us home to heaven to dwell with Him eternally. --Shirlene Wright
