Scripture for 03/13/14 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV) I feel like that every time I really get back to being able to write, things from every side start to attack me and keep me from being able to do this post. I am not perfect by any means and there are still times when I get so overwhelmed I dont know where to start to try to get things back in order, but the great thing about God is He is always there leading me back to where I need to be. I am sorry this post has been missing so much lately, but I believe God is working on me and things will start to be better once again! These past couple of weeks, I have struggled with knowing what to do on so many different fronts. I was beginning to feel like that nothing that I was doing was worth it, that I was giving myself to different areas and not really receiving anything good in return. The problem though was I was listening to my feelings and forgetting that we walk by FAITH, not by sight. Not every day is good. Some days everything you touch is going to fall apart. Thats not what matters though. When you give yourself FULLY to the work of the Lord, whatever it may be, it WILL be rewarded. Too many times we are trying to push God along to finish a work that we are ready to see the end results from. Thats not the way this life works though. Paul talked about how that he planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow in 1 Corinthians 3. We have a job to do whether it is to be the one who plants or the one who waters, but God is the One Who completes the work and we may not always see the end result. When we have people who are trying to do it all, it isnt going to complete the work like that God intends. Paul also talked about how that there is One body with many members. No single person can do it all and if they are trying to do everything, they arent following the will of God but their own self. Its a serious thing and its very dangerous to try to make things happen that God hasnt called you to do. We can get too caught up in trying to get recognition for things and all we will do is hurt a lot of people and wind up with their blood on our hands. There are so many different things that we struggle with everyday and its hard sometimes to keep going and to keep our eyes on what really matters. I have been so upset over some different things and felt like it didnt really matter if I kept on trying or not, but it does. I can see a difference in so many things not because of something that I have done, but because God has used me to do HIS work. Do I see it in all situations everyday? No. But those days when I feel like I have worked so hard for others to come in and try to destroy it I am reminded that if God be for us, who can be against us? We have to keep our mind on God and what His will for our life is. We cant look at people around us or circumstances that continue to arise in our life or we will lose sight of what it is we are really fighting for. The battle we have in this life isnt against one another but against Satan and his demons. Sure hes using people, but we dont need to fight against them, no matter how hard it is not to. This scripture always encourages me and I know I have used it several different times but it is because God brings it to me when I need it the most and I am given the strength to keep on pushing forward. If we are really doing what God has called us to do and we are giving ourselves fully to that work so that Gods Kingdom will benefit, our work will NEVER be in vain. No matter what demons come against us. No matter what obstacles we have to face. No matter what heartache we must endure. It WILL be worth it in the end and that is ALL that matters.
