Search Warrant Leads To Two Arrests on Heroin Charges Two men were arrested Thursday, May 1, 2014 on heroin charges after members of the Special Investigations Unit and Team 1 officers executed a search warrant downtown at 9 Indian Street. Torris J. Simmons, 37, of Sorentrue Avenue, North Charleston and Dale Lavron Smith, 42, of Reid Street, are charged with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute and distribution of a controlled substance within close proximity of a school. They were being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center. Police confiscated 1.14 grams of heroin, more than $500 in cash and a handgun.
