Season of vultures There can be nothing more fetching for vulture than a show of death and destruction. They can claw their feast and have their season without any extra exercise of looking anywhere else .They go and feed on the blood and flesh of dead and their prayers are much antagonist to sane. They aerially circle over the dead and as movements of deceased cease they slide downward puncture the eyes and let the gush of red viscous blood out and quench their thirst . The good season of vulture start with the bad omen for many; as ants and small organisms leave their hides; come out in open and scrambling and crawling leave for safety. Alas! Futile struggle for inevitable. In the land that was called ‘paradise on earth’, many vultures live-some aborigines and some foreign. They live on flesh of poor. They keep themselves healthy and their strength is strengthen by the regular feast of destruction of emotion. They sleeve up the cloth of the arms preventing splashing of blood stains on the white shirt. They vouch for anything gas their vampirish etiquettes and swiftness in biting is remarkable. I’m talking just for another season for vultures to be happy. One more season of deaths and this is this time it is not insurgency but natural calamity. The vultures flew from new Delhi with cameras mikes and all sort of rain jackets. They thought of this tragedy as an opportunity to fulfil the long buried grotesque propaganda. They left their cosy air conditioned studios to fulfil the ‘national interest’ as to draw sadistic pleasure ;they flew on the first flight to the flood struck areas and with an undiscovered understanding they grabbed the first seats in the rescue boat capturing the distressful shots while unregretfully asking the distasteful questions, “Should you be now be thankful or not? Hi-fi journalist like Barkha dutt was up in arms in the promotion of the heroics and so called herculean efforts - blinding the eyes with few green boats and some self congratulating officers. There on the other channels the common yet comic blathering by high octane Arnab Goswami continued asking some foolish questions and backing himself by self-concocted facts through Self setup R&D wing. “where are the separatists?”, “shouldn’t they realise the betterment of people lies in increasing the army presence”, ‘Isn’t AFPSA proving helpful as it increases presence of foot soldiers and hence increasing recue efforts’, these types of senceless,bigotful,un necessary questions were making up cloud of nationalistic processions on air and it was such a bad experience that one could have puked if there had been some time to come out of the trauma of that time. The unprecedented catastrophe left many windows for the national media to unnecessarily poke their dirty nose in.They smelled the flesh is ready and the thirst is apt;elections are up and talks are stalled, there could be no more good an opportunity jumping the goat on and meat out the best to inflict worst. The flooded identity of the poor Kashmir had to exposed and the narcissist panellist had none job at hand. Punch the dying! They flew on choppers and virtually ate seats of marooned-those who has no food to live on, no water in bottles but then their PR exercise would have been jolted as someother vulture(read media) house would take the bite. This murky war of TRP has taken yet another dirty side. The vultures were blind folded seeing heroics of local volunteers; to student volunteers in Delhi and to the hooligans who attacked some Kashmiri students while collecting relief. They left that for good. The deliberate attempt to belittle locals was a desperation in vain though! However, they were interested in getting the bites from migrants and tourists.They never dared asking people at Jaama Masjid and other places and ask about their opinions. They never had time debating the evaporated JK government.oh!They were busy in agendas. I also don’t blame them. Some propaganda had to be fulfilled with the unethical journalism. But this all proved counterproductive to them. The land they were trying to burden with favours and taunts ‘rose’ with its indigenous youth.It is hard now to tame the monster they have installed in them.The under hyped heroes have made up their own catamarans and canoes and proved they are enough to come to their own rescue and glory comes with sweet-they think. Denouement Season of vulture reflects the opportunity that media houses grabbed and with less success exploited in installing the narratives far from truth while actied as ogre. This season had the protagonist only in the name of men in unform ,side-lining everyone who gave their lives in pursuit of humanity. This needs to be challenged.
