GLENDALE, Ariz. – The Seahawks’ 24-14 victory over the Eagles in Philadelphia two weeks ago has turned out to be a win that just keeps on giving. Because the Eagles lost to the Washington Redskins on Saturday and the Dallas Cowboys beat the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon, the Seahawks clinched a playoff spot even before taking the field at University of Phoenix Stadium to play the NFC West-leading Arizona Cardinals on Sunday night. It happened because the Cowboys’ victory clinched the NFC East title, and because the Seahawks hold the tiebreaker against the Eagles – who have been eliminated from the playoff race. But the Seahawks are hardly satisfied. They can pull into a tie for the NFC West lead by defeating the Cardinals, and then win the division and possibly secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs by beating the St. Louis Rams in their regular-season finale at CenturyLink Field next Sunday afternoon. The Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers also won on Sunday to improve to 11-3, along with the Cowboys.
