Seattle is privatizing into a libertarian utopia! Well, not really, but theyre privatizing police! Laurelhurst (a wealthy neighborhood in Seattle on Lk Wash) formed their own private police force to combat Seattles big city problem of rampant property crime. The govt was slow on 911 calls, so the people modern-militia style, stepped in. Cool! And such libertarian-do-it-yourself-private-action is possible not only in wealthy communities as the article posits, but also in poor communities. Malcolm X would have approved of such private action, for example, and poor communities can successfully supplement police and patrol their neighborhoods via a volunteer neighborhood watch association, or a hired, privatized security force.
