Yoga for Anxiety & Depression -- Series with Allan Alicuben Tuesdays 4/29/2014 - 6/3/2014 From: 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm A gentle yoga practice can give people many tools in dealing with anxiety and/or depression. Making the commitment to come to class shows an effort towards healing. The supportive energy of the group along with individualized attention allows your process to proceed in the most natural way for you. The gentle poses and breathing exercises provide the body and mind with a way to deal with the physical, energetic and emotional challenges that arise with anxiety/depression. They may provide a temporary respite, they may give you a new insight, or they may relieve some tight areas of the body and/or mind. Difficulties with sleeping, concentrating and appetite are often resolved through a regular yoga practice. Guided meditation can also assist in relaxation and igniting the parasympathetic nervous system. The Samarya Centers supportive and encouraging environment will allow each student to find healing in his or her own way while providing practical tools for physical, emotional and spiritual self-care. All levels of ability are welcome and encouraged to attend, whether you are experiencing anxiety/depression yourself or know a loved one who is living with anxiety/depression. Cost is $89 per 6-week series.
