Second Baby Showers: Does no one have ANY scruples anymore? Second baby showers are a no-no. The idea of a baby shower is this: New parents have little money & no baby gear for their first child. Someone throws you a baby shower to help you prepare for your FIRST baby. People buy gifts for the parents to help them out. Heres the kicker: you KEEP your baby gear for your next child!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOA! Foreign concept huh! If you choose to ditch all your baby gear and buy all new stuff for the next baby:cool. If you pop out another kid in 10 years:cool! If you cant handle a boy sleeping in a pink pack-n-play:cool. Just dont expect another baby shower! Having babies doesnt entitle you to gifts. Baby showers are for first time parents. After that, youre on your own. PERIOD! Sometimes we should learn from our grandparents & remember social grace! This is what weve produced, ungrateful, spoiled kids with a huge sense of entitlement. If you cant teach your kids to budget & live within their means-you are not doing your children any favors! And guess what? Im not an old person!
