Second horse I may have available (see below/earlier post for the other horse) is a 2 year old registered Bay Roan Quarter Horse gelding. He is super well bred, out of cutting horse lines. (you can see his bloodlines at allbreedpedigree/sonitas+symphony ). This guy is my absolute Dream Horse! I had raised and trained his mama, rode his daddy (an actual NCHA world champion), bred specifically for this colt.......and hes everything I had hoped he would be!! Unfortunately, my life has changed ALOT since I had bred for him.......and Im not so sure he is exactly the right match for my current situation (2 teens that no longer care all that much about horses, 2 foster kids under the age of 2, a beginner rider husband, NO time to work with horses at all............). This colt was imprinted at birth, but then put out to pasture (deliberately) to just be a horse, and to keep from becoming a spoiled pet. He was brought in at weanling age, halter trained, taught to stand quietly, lead nicely, tie, pick up feet, trailer load and back out, bathe, blanket etc.......and then turned back out again to pasture a few weeks later. I brought him up the Alcan from colorado as a yearling (1/3 trip alone), and for all the horses Ive ever hauled (which is ALOT), Ive never had one so easygoing and good minded!! I even walked him into a Murdochs to go halter shopping ; ) I did alot of groundwork with this guy last winter; he stands quietly to be saddled and bridled, has been ponied alongside horses, 4 wheelers, people.....and has been taken through woods, brush, water, etc (saddled and bridled, but with no rider). Much to my delight, he REALLY watches where he puts his feet and is very surefooted, yet not balky or slow by any means. Like I said, my dream horse!! This guy has been pastured with/exposed to cows, elk, sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, donkeys, llamas, emus, tractors, 4 wheelers, construction equipment, 4 wheelersw, dirt bikes, traffic, strange and obnoxious dogs....... pretty much everything! He is easy toi catch and halter; usually comes to a whistle. Super athletic, catty and quick, has an AWESOME stop and can turn on a dime. He was actually kicked out of a pasture situation as a yearling for cutting the calves; not running cattle.....just literally cutting off a calf, holding it awhile, then eventually letting it go, only to cut and hold another a little later. On one hand, I REALLY dont want to part with this colt; on the other hand.......if he turns out to be just the right horse/Dream Horse for someone else, I may just let him go. Just to make sure he actually gets USED to his potential! He is ONLY available to Just the Right Home!! I have no idea what he is worth moneywise; he has 2 1/2 siblings of the same age (but with a bit more training) that recently sold for over 10k in the lower 48, but I realize the market for a horse like that may not be up here. Right home MOST important.....but he is not going to be a cheapie or free horse. May consider trade for a family friendly horse that better suits my current lifestyle, but again......he is ONLY available to a home I think would be better for HIM!!
