Second team match report: Leeds won by 7 wickets After two high scoring encounters against Bluebell Hill last season Leeds produced a disciplined bowling performance coupled with some brilliant fielding to set themselves up for victory. Tight bowling from Matt Mustill, myself, Geoff Hunt and the returning Mark Squires kept the run rate in check and on another day the opposition could have easily been bowled out for a lot less. Andy Turner then came on to claim four wickets and help secure 4 bonus points that could prove crucial later in the season. Special mention for Geoff who for the second time this season managed to hit the stumps without dislodging the bails, as you can imagine he took this well :) Despite my early departure to a ball that swung back in sharply (and had nothing whatsoever to do with the massive gap between bat and pad), John Hartshorn and Dom Smith soon put the Bluebell total into perspective with a 50 run partnership in good time. This was ended when Boycey hit a vol a von down long ons throat, Geoff then showed how it should be down with two big sixes in a quick 30. Dom in tandem once again with Asbo, saw Leeds home with a brilliant 80*. Credit to the everyone in a great team display to keep us clear at the top of the league.
