Secrets of Pompeii Wednesday, July 31 at 6:30 pm Jessica Pesce presents a detailed look at how an archaeological excavation develops over the course of seven weeks. Through photos, you will see what types of finds were uncovered in a residential neighborhood of ancient Pompeii. The presentation will also describe major artifacts, paintings, and human remains that have been found in Pompeii since excavations began in the 1800s. Ms. Pesce excavated in Pompeii in the summer of 2006 on a dig run by Stanford and the University of Michigan. Jessica has also worked at archeological sites in Portugal, Sicily and Tunisia. Italian themed refreshments will be served. No registration necessary.
