See 11.20mins PM Lee endorse Uber.... Thats to say, welcome back to the 60s where pirated taxi are around... Agreed that we need changed but we should not changed the control of the system. Uber and UberX are using GPS metered charged. Their drivers are not TVDL holders... What are the signal PM Lee is sending? Is he telling us TVDL is not longer important in Singapore? Is he saying that as Taxi Driver, we do not need TVDL as well? Is he telling the world that Singapore are relaxing all the rules in order to be competitive? Now, can we say, we will ask all taxi drivers to give up their taxi and rent a car to operate with our very own Apps metered charged service? If that happens, how many Singaporean will be going to be jobless due to downsizing of the workforce in CDG, SMRT etc? Drivers joining us do not need to worry about suspension by LTA or sack by the company!!! Dear PM Lee, is this what you want? We welcome Uber only if the authority have full control of the system! 1) If Uber and UberX drivers are TVDL holders 2) If Uber and UberX charged as a Private Limousine where it charge flat fee.
