See that ice??? I think this is the coolest thing ever. There are so many cheaper ways to raise awareness and money for a good cause than wasting perfectly good water... Im hypersensitive to cold and might just be diagnosed with ALS after a shower of ice cold water lol... I might end up fully crippled instantly and break the record for the fastest progression of the disease... Just saying... But just donate the money already.... Forget the waste... I wonder if all these people would do the challenge if they had to climb down a 20 ft cliff and back up, just to fetch a bucket of water... On a daily basis?? Most people dont even mention ALS and truth be told, a lot of people get showered and still dont know what ALS is, people take this for a silly game of recognition. To raise awareness... What about an all black (or all white, yellow, pink or green) clothes challenge?? ... How about a men in bikini and women... Something else challenge?? How about an all pink marathon??... Where the challengers also benefit from the exercise and men man up about wearing pink!!! (hmmmm...) how about a game show where people are challenged to answer questions about the disease and if they get it wrong they donate... If they get it right, they donate anyway... People could even bet on the winners and their bet money (and winnings lol) go to the cause. The challenge is to donate money or sock up a bucket of icy water... I think doing the ice bucket part defeats the whole purpose, its like buying a $500 plane ticket to go drop $50 bucks in a charity bucket when you could have mailed the whole $550 or send it electronically through cyber space at no extra cost. By the way... can I have a hammer wack challenge where people smack themselves in the cheek as hard as they can with a hammer then donate some money to me for painkillers for my new wisdom teeth and so I can research why God chooses to give us wisdom teeth well after 2 decades of living without them and not needing them... Come on, Im sure everyone wanna figure this out because we all get them for no apparent reason!!
