See, thats the thing. Atheists and agnostics fight back because if we hadnt, religion would still be doing its thing and IS doing its thing. Protestants would still be Catholics or part of the Church of England, we would still be doing whatever we were told and living in fear and worshiping the King (and, no I dont mean Jesus). We fight because if we hadnt... ...fill in the blank. Just because your church doesnt burn witches (though, scripturally, you are supposed to), some Biblical literalists in Africa do. Who are you to tell them that they shouldnt follow scripture? Your church is progressive (even if Fundamental) because someone fought for you, and the goal post WILL keep moving. Someone fought for your freedom from the ignorance and darkness and confusion, and it wasnt someone who was devoutly religious or even religious at all.
