See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. (Col. 2:8) There are many isms we must avoid on our path to salvation, and relationship with Jesus Christ. This is only the beginning of the journey. Many leaders have incorporated secular ideas, compromised the scripture for popularity, or financial gain, and grown cold in their own faith. It is the responsibility of every person who is born again to search the scripture and know what is, or is not in keeping with the whole counsel of God. If necessary, look into translations from the original language for clarity. You and I are accountable for what we believe. Its critical, now more than ever before, that we search the scripture and ask the Holy Spirit to give us revelation, knowledge, discernment, and, wisdom. Study to show yourself approved-. Your own soul is at stake.
