See two Italian sword & buckler practitioners, one studying I.33, - TopicsExpress

See two Italian sword & buckler practitioners, one studying I.33, the other following the Italian Renaissance masters teachings, showing overall good form, constant flow and soild footwork. I also like their calm approach to combat – one of the premises of using martial arts in action. Federico Malagutti (on the left) was pretty much at the start of his studies and practice of medieval sword and buckler combat when I first met him about a year ago. It is amazing, how much he has progressed. This would have been quite impressive an achievement under the guidance of a good instructor. Yet, safe for a few weekend seminars, he was lacking such tuition. So Federico owes his constantly improving skills largely to his own discipline and the will to do what it takes. And, of course, it helps that his girlfriend Elisa is just as determined to become a good s&b combatant, too. I am looking forward to seeing what he and his co-fencers will come up with in a few years time. I have no doubt that you will become excellent swordsmen in due course if you keep keep it up! youtube/watch?v=PhgM2jwxZV4
