See what your neighbors are saying... Letters to The Editor The Times Record Brunswick, Maine 04011 August 10, 2013 Don’t miss the opportunity to vote in the Special Election on August 27th for Eloise Vitelli for State Senate, District 19. This is an important special election to fill the seat vacated by popular former Senate Majority leader,Seth Goodall who has accepted an appointment by the President to serve as New England Regional Administrator of the Small Business Administration. Both he and Seth Berry, Majority leader of the State House of Representatives have endorsed Eloise to run for Goodall’s seat. During the last legislative session, Governor Le Page vetoed a record 83 bills in a process of thwarting the interests of ordinary Mainers This state cannot afford another Republican in the Senate to rubber stamp Governor Le Page’s anti- middle class agenda. Vote for Eloise who, as Director of Program and Policy at “Women, Work and Community” created the New Ventures program which helped over 3000 Mainers start successful small businesses. She has served as a member of the Maine Economic Growth Council. As stated by Seth Berry, “As State Senator, she will be in a position to continue her focus on building and strengthening Maine’s economy.” In 2006, Eloise received the Entrepreneurial Excellence Award and in 1997, the Women’s Business Advocate of the year award and in 1995 was inducted into the Maine Women’s Hall of Fame. It takes just a few minutes to vote by absentee Ballot at Town Hall now, but whether you vote right away or on August 27th, do not miss the opportunity to vote for candidate Eloise Vitelli in this important special election. Elections matter. Patricia M. Hendrickson Topsham, ME 04086
