Seeing some other posts and reminiscing a bit..... Any of the rest of you born late 40s or early/mid 50s feel a bit sorry for those born later? We were old enough to grow up in the era of the British Invasion.....saw the Beatles perform for the first time in the US on Ed Sullivan, saw the loss of innocence with Viet Nam but learned to stand up to government and actively protest instead of sitting passively on the sidelines. Participated in Woodstock, saw Womens Rights and the Feminist movement fight battles for equality. Many of us (yeah, I was one) were hippies complete with the John Lennon granny type glasses, love beads, frayed jeans and sandals. Enjoyed a little over a decade of the BEST music ever written and performed. Seems to me that those born after 1960 were too young to appreciate/understand a lot of what was going on.....they never knew what they missed! We were allowed to be kids, played outdoors all summer long, felt a sense of security and knew we were loved and cared about. Learned a good work ethic from our parents and didnt expect anything handed to us. If you got in trouble at school (or anywhere for that matter) the talking to you got there was NOTHING compared to what awaited you at home! We were held accountable for our actions! Wouldnt it be great if we could get some of that back for the current generation?
