Seeing this film has become more important than seeing any other - TopicsExpress

Seeing this film has become more important than seeing any other film. It seems like more and more we are bending to the rule of terrorism and bullying. It may seem like just a dumb movie, but it stands now as a mark of our liberty to freely express our ideas and our opinions. And banning a movie out of fear is surrendering to fear. We are letting North Korea treat Americans like North Kroeans. This of course echos the incident of the Danish Cartoons that ultimately cause riots and a death toll tallying in the hundreds. And since then, many people have tried to take a stand against the fear of making a joke. The creators of South Park even put their own lives on the line making an episode that expressed their feelings about censorship in fear of terrorism, only to have much of that episode unfortunately censored. It may just seem like a dumb comedy film, but look at it in at different way. Look at it for what is only is. An idea. Ideas or what fuels films, television, books and politics. In my view, this is just another downward step before we silence all our ideas in fear. Charlie Chaplin didnt let fear silence him with The Great Dictator. How sad now that we stand silent now.
